Our popular masterclasses are back for 2018

Here at The Streets, we’re all for lifelong learning and continuous education. After all, as Henry Ford, pioneer of the automobile industry, once said:

Anyone who stops learning is old – whether at twenty or eighty.
The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young
.’

So after a few team workshops about what sort of knowledge we might be able to impart on others, we’ve come to the conclusion that we actually don’t have much to offer (unless anyone out there wants to learn how to accidentally find themselves sipping on vermouth at Banksii when they’re really meant to be at the gym).

Instead, we’ve enlisted the help of some of our friends at The Streets - specialists in food, wine, cocktails, fashion and more - to offer some unique educational experiences to you through our Masterclass Series. We’ll be hosting a different masterclass every month, all of which will be designed to be educational, interactive – and, of course, fun!

Australian Gin Masterclass (SOLD OUT)

Did you know that gin is quickly rivalling vodka as the most popular white spirit consumed in Australia? It’s a bartenders favourite spirit in the art of making cocktails, and the team at love.fish are experts with their all Australian gin list.

In this Masterclass, served from the all-Australian bar, you will be shown four different Australian made gins and four fundamentally different ways to serve this juniper berry infused spirit. Working one on one with the bartender, you’ll learn invaluable tips on how to craft and create gin cocktails and you’ll be sure to walk away ready to show off your new-found skills. While a classic G&T is sure to be a crowd pleaser, up your cocktail game just in time for your next house party.

Whiskey and Tailoring Masterclass

Whether you’re already a whiskey lover and want the opportunity to expand your knowledge; or don’t know the difference between sour mash, straight rye and bourbon -this whiskey masterclass gives you a chance to try some of the best on the market.

And if you weren’t already racing to book your tickets, you’ll be pleased to know this Masterclass is a double-whammy! Shirt Bar’s Head Tailor will walk you through the intricacies of cut and design custom shirts, as well as fabric types, pattern cutting and a few style tips here and there.
